Official URL: evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn

## Visa Requirements & Eligibility

The Vietnam e-Visa is available to citizens of all countries and territories, making it the easiest way to gain entry for tourism or business purposes.

  * **Documentation:** You must upload a clear scan of your passport data page and a recent passport-style portrait photo \(without glasses\). Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months following your arrival date and have at least two blank pages.
  * **Eligibility:** The e-Visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, available in both single-entry and multiple-entry formats. You must enter Vietnam through one of the 33 approved international checkpoints \(including major airports, land borders, and seaports\).
  * **Processing Timelines:** Standard processing takes 3 to 5 working days. It is highly recommended to apply at least 1-2 weeks before your planned departure, as public holidays in Vietnam can delay processing.
  * **Fees:** A single-entry e-Visa costs $25 USD. A multiple-entry e-Visa costs $50 USD. The fee is non-refundable, even if your application is rejected.

## Common Scams & How to Protect Yourself

Vietnam visa applications are heavily targeted by look-alike websites that charge high "service fees" or issue invalid approval letters.

  * **Fake Official Websites:** Dozens of commercial websites use domain names like "vietnamvisa.gov.vn.com" or "vietnamevisa.org" and feature government logos to appear official. They charge $50-$100+ for an e-Visa. _Protection:_ Ensure the URL ends EXACTLY in **.gov.vn** \(specifically _evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn_\).
  * **"Visa on Arrival" Approval Letter Scams:** While Visa on Arrival \(VOA\) used to be common, the e-Visa is now the primary method. Unofficial agencies still sell "approval letters" for VOA, which often result in massive stamping fees at the airport or denied boarding by airlines. _Protection:_ Always apply for the e-Visa directly through the government portal before flying.
  * **Expedited Processing Fraud:** Scammers claim they can get your visa approved in 2 hours for a massive fee. _Protection:_ While some legitimate travel agencies can expedite visas locally, the safest and cheapest route is to simply apply early through the official site.

## Application Tracking & Security

The Vietnam e-Visa portal does not require you to create a traditional account with a username and password. Instead, you are given a unique Registration Code.

  * **Tracking Your Application:** After submitting your form and paying, you will receive a Registration Code. You must save this code\! You will use this code, along with your email address and date of birth, to check your visa status and download the approved e-Visa PDF.
  * **Lost Registration Code:** If you lose your Registration Code, it can be very difficult to recover or check your visa status. Always write it down, screenshot it, and ensure your email address is typed correctly during the application.
  * **Security Best Practices:** Do not share your Registration Code or passport details on public forums or social media. Only enter these details on the official _evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn_ portal.
